Q:  Can Sound-Answers.com answer any question about sound?

A:   No. Not all questions about sound can be answered using the Sound-Answers.com format.  Some questions require extensive study or on-site sound measurements, which are not feasible using an ecommerce format.  Additionally, our expertise is limited to the built environment.  We are not yet qualified to answer questions relating to underwater acoustics, psychoacoustics, biomedical acoustics, musical instruments, etc.

Q:  What happens if I ask a question, submit payment and you cannot answer my question?

A:   If Sound-Answers.com is not able to answer your question for whatever reason, we will automatically issue you full refund.  That’s 100% guaranteed!

Q:  If Sound-Answers.com was not able to answer my question, why did you debit my credit card and then issue a refund.

A: It is a matter of customer security.  When you submitted your question, your credit card was debited immediately by PayPal.  We did not have access to or store any of your credit card information.  In order for us to review your question before debiting your credit card we would have to store your credit card information.  That is not safe for you or for us.

Q:  Can I buy products or materials recommended in Sound-Answers.com answers directly from Sound-Answers.com?

A:   No.  Sound-Answers.com is a professional services company that is completely independent from manufacturers and suppliers of acoustical products and materials.  If our answers include the names of specific products or materials, it is because they are part of the most appropriate solution, not because we will be remunerated by the manufacturer.

Q:  Does Sound-Answers.com provide installation or construction services.

A:   No. Sound-Answers.com is a professional consultancy.  We do not provide installation or construction services.

Q:  How much information do I need to submit with my question?

A:   Our experts need to understand the problem and the environment in which the problem exists.  It is always better to submit more information than less.  Use the information listed on the Guidelines page and read through the Examples from other clients to better judge how much information you need to submit with your question.   Uploading drawings, photos, movies or recordings with your question is highly recommended.  Rest assured though that if your expert needs a little more information, you will be contacted so that the answer you receive is accurate and thorough.

Q:  If I require more assistance than asking a single question, can Sound-Answers.com provide more involved study and recommendations?

A:   Yes.  We have added two more service options because many customers desired more assistance than an answer to a single question.  Please consider the 1-hour video call option or the 1/2 day mini-consultation option.  Beyond these three service options though, Sound-Answers.com will likely refer you to a full service consultancy that is a member firm of the National Council of Acoustical Consultants (NCAC) or member of the Institute for Noise Control Engineering (INCE).

Q:  Will the answer I get from Sound-Answers.com be too technical for me to understand?

A:   No. Our experts understand that their answers must be in layman’s words.  Some terms that you may not be familiar with are defined in the resource center.  Similarly, there is additional product & manufacturer information in the Resource Center.  We suggest that you have on-line access to the Resource Center when reviewing your answers from Sound-Answers.com.

Q:  How long will I have to wait for my answer from Sound-Answers.com?

A:   Many answers to single questions are provided the same business day that the questions are submitted.  Questions submitted late in the business day are usually answered the next business day.  If more time is needed for any reason, an expert will respond within 48 hours of submitting the question, explain the reason for the delay and inform you of when your answer will be provided.  Of course, the 1-hour video call option depends in part on your schedule, but typically it can be scheduled to occur within 1-2 business days.  The 1/2 day mini-consultation can typically be scheduled to occur within 1-3 business days.

Q:  What if I am dissatisfied with the answer I receive from Sound-Answers.com?  Can I get a refund?

A:   Absolutely.  We have a very high success rate and want to continue that.  But, if you are not 100% satisfied with the answer you receive from Sound-Answers.com, simply click on the guarantee web page and request a refund.
