Guidelines
Guidelines for the 1 question / 1 answer service option
- If your question relates to a previously asked question
(e.g., same problem/project, new question), be sure to reference the
previously asked question(s) so you do not have to start over
providing background information.
- If your problem with sound already exists, please describe
what you are hearing (or not hearing) and the environment in which
your problem exists.
- Consider including relevant information about:
- How the rooms or areas are (or will be) used by people
Examples - worship, education, sleeping, office work, music
recording
- What the dimensions of the room or space are (or will
be)
Examples - length, width, height
- What the wall, floor, ceiling finish materials are (or
will be)
Examples - painted drywall, carpet on pad, acoustic tile ceiling
- What the substrate/subfloor or underlying construction
are (or will be)
Examples - concrete slab, concrete block wall, plywood on wood
joists
- Consider supplementing your question by also
uploading:
- Pictures/Images ( .jpg format preferred)
- Recordings ( .mp3 format preferred)
- Movies ( .mpg format preferred)
- Drawings ( .pdf format preferred)
- Other ( .pdf format preferred)
Guidelines for the 1 hour video call service option
- Briefly describe your project by telling us what type of building or room you are dealing with and what you generally would like to discuss during the 1 hour video call.
Example: My project is a new home theater in the basement of my house. I would like to discuss how I might be able to decrease the amount of sound that gets upstairs and bothers my spouse.
Example: I’m a builder working on a 3-story, wood frame, apartment building and I’d like to talk to you about floor underlayments for use under hard finish floors such as tile and wood.
- Consider uploading supporting files for use during the video call:
- Pictures/Images ( .jpg format preferred)
- Recordings ( .mp3 format preferred)
- Movies ( .mpg format preferred)
- Drawings ( .pdf format preferred)
- Other ( .pdf format preferred)
- List a few good dates & times in the next 1-2 business days for the video call. Sound-Answers.com will contact you to schedule the exact date and time.
- Indicate if you are setup with a web camera, high-speed Internet connection and Skype account or if you would prefer to just conduct the call using a telephone.
Guidelines for the mini consultation service option
- Briefly describe your project by telling us what type of building or room you are dealing with and what you generally would like to accomplish via the 1/2 day mini consultation.
Example: I’m an architect and I just finished the 50% CD set for a 1,000-seat contemporary church. I’d like to have an expert spend a half day reviewing wall types and wall/ceiling finishes in the main sanctuary to make sure I didn’t miss anything. I’d like to have a brief video call in the beginning to review the project and my concerns. I’d also like a brief bulleted memo stating your findings and recommendations.
- It is likely that you will need to upload supporting files for use during the mini consultation:
- Pictures/Images ( .jpg format preferred)
- Recordings ( .mp3 format preferred)
- Movies ( .mpg format preferred)
- Drawings ( .pdf format preferred)
- Other ( .pdf format preferred)
-
List a few good mornings or afternoons in the next 1-3 business days where you will be readily available for contact during your mini consultation. Sound-Answers.com will contact you to schedule the exact date and time of your mini consultation.
-
If you desire a video call at the beginning or end of your mini consultation, indicate if you are setup with a web camera, high-speed Internet connection and Skype account or if you would prefer to just conduct the call(s) using a telephone.
-
Indicate if you think you want a written deliverable such as a letter or memo with our findings and recommendations, or if a call or email will suffice.
